Man detained in Pakistan after 12 kg of hashish seized — Dawn

In Charsadda, Pakistan, a man was detained during a joint operation after 12 kilograms of hashish were seized from a car. The operation was conducted by the excise intelligence team and the Charsadda excise police, Dawn reports.

Hashish found in fuel tank

According to excise department officials, the operation was conducted on Wednesday after information was received near the Prang Maqbara cemetery on Nowshera Road. During the inspection of the vehicle, law enforcement officers found 12,000 grams of hashish concealed in two specially constructed compartments inside the fuel tank.

The detainee was identified as Mehra Gul, a resident of the Sado Khel area in Mohmand district. A case was registered against him at the Charsadda excise police station. The investigation and legal procedures are ongoing.

Possible link to police

The excise department said that evidence seized from the suspect allegedly indicated his possible connection to the Mohmand district police. The operation was conducted under the zero-tolerance policy on drugs announced by Excise Minister Syed Fakhar Jehan Wazir.

Separate road accident in Charsadda

On the same day, a car collided with a motorcycle on the Umerzai—Kharichand road. Two young motorcyclists, Yusuf and Farhan, residents of the Gul Khatab Korona area, were killed in the crash.
