Bodies of two missing FC personnel found in Pakistan — Dawn
In Bannu, Pakistan, the bodies of two Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel who went missing the previous day have been found. They were discovered at the Kamali cemetery in Palosa, Dawn reports, citing the Rescue 1122 emergency service and local sources.
Identities of the deceased
The deceased were identified as Havaldar Ishaq and Sepoy Umar Hayat. Both served in Platoon No. 59 of the Frontier Constabulary.
According to the publication's sources, unidentified armed men allegedly abducted them on Sunday evening in Saifan Kozi Khel in the Karam Ghargi area. The locality falls within the jurisdiction of the cantonment police station.

Investigation into the incident
Following the incident, security measures were strengthened in the area and a search operation was launched to find the unidentified attackers. The investigation is ongoing.
The publication also notes that an Elite Force constable was killed a week earlier within the jurisdiction of Bannu cantonment police station. According to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies, 54 terrorist attacks were recorded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in August, excluding the merged districts, compared with 36 in July — 50% more. The number of people killed in the attacks fell from 69 to 44, while the number of injured fell from 96 to 70, or by 27%.
