Two suspects detained in South Korea over distribution of 110,000 videos
In South Korea, police detained a programmer and his alleged accomplice on suspicion of distributing more than 110,000 sexually explicit videos through a network of 23 websites. The materials included videos filmed without consent, Korea Herald reports.
Case referred to prosecutors
Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police said they referred the two suspects to prosecutors. They are accused of distributing illegal content for profit and posting it online.
According to police, the suspects uploaded recordings to websites they operated themselves from May last year through August. They allegedly earned about 70 million won, or approximately $52,141, from banner advertisements for illegal gambling and prostitution services.

Websites were blocked and changed addresses
Investigators believe that the programmer created the websites and controlled their operation, while the other suspect recruited advertisers and managed the content and revenue. They allegedly initially operated two websites and later expanded the network to 23 resources to increase advertising revenue.
According to police, the suspects used overseas servers and separate intermediary pages to avoid the authorities' attention. After one of the main websites was blocked, they changed its address and directed users to a new resource through such a page. All 23 websites have already been blocked. Police are also tracking cryptocurrency transactions and other income while checking the possible involvement of additional individuals.
