In Poland, a controversial former official is organizing a rally in support of Russia

Krzysztof Tolwiński, who was previously convicted of insulting Ukrainians, has applied to hold a rally on May 9—a day that Russia actively uses for propaganda purposes.

This information was published by Onet.

Krzysztof Tolwiński, known for his pro-Russian views, addressed his supporters in a Facebook post and called on them to gather on May 9, that is, on the day Russia celebrates Victory Day, to gather near the Mausoleum of Soviet Soldiers in order to “distance themselves from the collective madness of Polish politics, as well as to organize and carry out the necessary transformations.”

Tolwiński, who served as Deputy Minister of Finance in Jarosław Kaczyński’s government in 2007, also stated that “this gathering should not be viewed as some kind of demonstration or march on which you waste time and money, but as a test of political realism and an understanding of the gravity of the situation.”

Meanwhile, Rzeczpospolita reported that the “Front” party, led by Tolwinski, had registered the gathering mentioned by the former deputy minister. “At a time when the Polish state is weakening and giving rise to barbaric excesses, it was my duty to safeguard the dignity and honor of Poles,” he told the newspaper.

As a reminder, Poland is preparing changes for sole proprietors; taxes may rise to 40%.

As a reminder, Poland has previously updated the procedure for calculating sick leave benefits from ZUS, which will allow employees to receive higher payments. The new system also clarifies which types of activities affect the amount of sick leave benefits and which do not. This applies, in particular, to Ukrainian workers employed in the country under labor contracts.

Nearly 46% of Poles consider the threat of Poland leaving the European Union after the 2027 parliamentary elections to be unrealistic.
