Two Ukrainians were detained in Poland for transporting illegal migrants

In Poland, during two separate operations, law enforcement officers detained two Ukrainian citizens suspected of organizing the smuggling of illegal migrants.

The first incident occurred on June 23. Four migrants from Bangladesh and Afghanistan were found in a BMW driven by a 33-year-old Ukrainian man; two of them were hiding in the trunk. The second incident occurred on June 28—a 29-year-old Ukrainian man, who identified himself as a courier, was transporting four Afghan nationals, one of whom was also found in the trunk of the car.

Both Ukrainians were arrested. They were charged with organizing the illegal crossing of the state border, a crime punishable by six months to eight years in prison.
