Bodies of four family members found in locked house in Rangpur
The bodies of four members of one family were found in a locked house in the city of Rangpur. Police are investigating the circumstances of their deaths, NDTV World reports.
Who was found in the house
The bodies were discovered at around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday in a house in the Daspara area, also known as Machhuapara. The deceased were identified as 65-year-old Ganapati Chakraborty, a former teacher at Rangpur Zilla School; his 50-year-old wife Pritilata Chakraborty; their 23-year-old daughter Agami Chakraborty Prathi; and their 12-year-old son Priyam Chakraborty.
Relatives became concerned after they were unable to contact the family. Pooja Chakraborty, Pritilata's younger sister, said she last spoke with her on Thursday afternoon. Reports said that all four phones used by the family had been switched off since Thursday evening.

Investigation into the circumstances
On Saturday evening, relatives arrived at the house and saw that the main gate was locked and there were no lights on inside. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, broke the lock and entered the home.
Subir Chowdhury, head of the metropolitan unit of the Rangpur Criminal Investigation Department, said that the bodies of the mother and daughter were found on the stairs, Ganapati Chakraborty's body was found on the roof, and his son's body was found under a bed. Police, the Criminal Investigation Department and the detective unit were involved in the investigation. Law enforcement officers have not yet established the details of the incident, the exact time of death or a possible motive.
Ganapati Chakraborty retired from the school on December 31 last year and subsequently worked as a homeopathic practitioner. His daughter completed a master's program in English at Rangpur Carmichael College this year, while his son was in the fifth grade at Rangpur Zilla School.
