A former German government plane is being sold in the U.S.
In the United States, the former German government aircraft Theodor Heuss has been put up for sale.
It is an Airbus A340-300, manufactured in 2000, with serial number 355.
For many years, the aircraft was one of the flagship planes of the government aviation fleet. German Chancellor Angela Merkel used the Theodor Heuss during her foreign trips, as did ministers and state guests. According to the sales documents, the aircraft has logged over 50,700 flight hours and 8,768 landings.
The aircraft is currently parked in the U.S., and the American aircraft dealer Jetcraft is looking for a buyer. In addition, the aircraft is already being advertised on Jetcraft’s Instagram page. However, the seller has not disclosed the price.
This government aircraft has been preserved intact, unlike another one—the Konrad Adenauer—which was transferred to Lufthansa Technik for spare parts. After the federal government sold the Theodor Heuss in September 2023, it ended up in the U.S.
