Ukraine has called on Poland to investigate the desecration of the memorial
The Ukrainian Embassy in Poland has called on Polish authorities to promptly investigate an act of vandalism targeting a Ukrainian memorial site in the Bialystok area near the village of Liski in the Lublin Voivodeship.
According to diplomats, unknown individuals damaged the memorial honoring the memory of fallen Ukrainian soldiers. The embassy emphasized that the destruction of burial sites and memorials is unacceptable, regardless of the complex chapters of shared history.
The Ukrainian side also stated that attempts to shift historical disputes into the realm of vandalism and hostility toward Ukrainians must be subject to appropriate legal scrutiny. The embassy called for identifying those responsible, holding them accountable, and restoring the damaged memorial.

The Czech right-wing populist party SPD stated that it will seek to strip Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of the Czech Republic’s highest state award—the Order of the White Lion.
The decision to revoke Poland’s highest state honor, the Order of the White Eagle, from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not a unilateral act by the president. Under Polish procedure, the president may initiate the revocation of an award, but the corresponding act requires the countersignature of the Polish prime minister.
