In 11 regions of Russia, teachers' salaries are being delayed due to budget shortfalls
In Russia, delays in the payment of salaries and bonuses to school teachers have been reported in at least 11 regions.

In particular, teachers in Tuva are filing lawsuits en masse over non-payment and delays. The region’s head, Vladislav Khovalig, confirmed the problem, noting that it is linked to the financial state of local budgets.
Tuva’s budget deficit in 2026 amounts to approximately 1.5 billion rubles.
Similar problems have previously been reported in at least nine other regions, including the Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk, and Rostov regions, the Khabarovsk Territory, and Karelia.
In some cases, according to teachers, payments have not been received since the beginning of the year, and some educators say they do not even have enough money for basic necessities.
After three years of unexpected economic growth, Russia is facing a sudden slowdown—war expenses, inflation, and falling oil prices have begun to weigh on an economy that until recently seemed resilient to sanctions.
