Australia confirms H5 bird flu in a pelican for the first time
Australia has confirmed H5 bird flu infection in a pelican for the first time. The bird was found in Edithburgh on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia.
As ABC News Australia reports, four more cases of bird flu were also confirmed in the state on Monday.
Sea lion to be tested for the virus
South Australian Environment Minister Emily Bourke said that a dead sea lion found near Victor Harbor was sent for testing. According to her, a report was received that day about another dead sea lion near the Victor Harbor coast.

Dolphin will not be tested
A dead dolphin that washed ashore in Port Noarlunga cannot be tested for bird flu because of the decomposition of its carcass, Bourke said. A total of 295 cases of H5 bird flu among animals have been confirmed in South Australia.
