Two men handed over to police in Islamabad over snake show
In Islamabad, Pakistan, the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) handed two men over to police after four snakes were found in their possession. According to Dawn, citing police, the men were suspected of organizing an illegal snake show near the Sabzi Mandi market.
Discovery of the snakes
According to police, the IWMB received information about a snake show being held in the Sabzi Mandi area and sent its team there. The board's staff found two men about 500 meters from a police station.
Four snakes were seized from them. The animals were taken to the Islamabad Wildlife Rescue Centre, law enforcement officials said.

Case registered
A case was registered against the men under Article 16(1)(b) of the Islamabad Nature Conservation and Wildlife Management Act 2024. Under the provision cited in the report, keeping wild animals in captivity is prohibited unless otherwise provided by law, rules, or regulations.
Police noted that snake demonstrations in Islamabad are strictly prohibited. The men were handed over to law enforcement for further action in the case.
