A bridge to Pasichna will open in Ivano-Frankivsk after 9 years of construction
On Thursday, August 27, a new bridge to Pasichna, whose construction took nine years, will open to traffic in Ivano-Frankivsk.
The bridge will be open to traffic starting at 5:00 a.m. The opening of the bridge is expected to improve transportation links with the Pasichna neighborhood and relieve traffic congestion on the city’s roads.
“The moment has finally arrived when we can announce when traffic will open on our bridge to Pasichna. Tomorrow at 5:00 a.m., after the curfew ends, cars will be able to cross the bridge to Pasichna. We’ve finally received the go-ahead, and the interchange, the bridge, and the access road have been put into operation. Therefore, we can now say with confidence that tomorrow traffic will already be traveling across the new bridge to Pasichna. “There was a vote on this some time ago, and it has been officially named the Halytskyi Bridge. But people commonly refer to it as the ‘new bridge to Pasichna,’” Ruslan Martsinkiv said.
In a video address, the mayor thanked the city council members, taxpayers, contractors, and everyone who contributed to the construction for their support. He also expressed special gratitude to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and noted that in 2021, 100 million hryvnias were allocated from the state budget for the project.
“We owe the greatest debt of gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, because thanks to them we were able to continue this work,” the mayor added.
Ruslan Martsinkiv also called on residents to take care of the new bridge. According to him, graffiti had already begun to appear on the structure even before its official opening. The mayor also posted a video showing the traffic flow on the new bridge.
“Take care of this asset, because the bridge will serve us for years to come. And how we treat it is very important. I want to say once again: there will be no grand opening—you know, a big celebration—it’s not the right time, nor the right circumstances,” noted the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk.
