In occupied Yalta, authorities have been unable to extinguish a massive forest fire for the sixth day in a row
In the mountainous region of the temporarily occupied city of Yalta in Crimea, efforts to combat a major wildfire have been ongoing for the sixth day. The fire broke out on August 19 in a remote part of the mountains, which is complicating efforts to extinguish it.
“Efforts to extinguish the wildfire in the Autka area of the Yalta municipal district are ongoing. The forces and equipment of the combined task force are deployed along the perimeter of the area. Operations are underway at six fire fronts. A permanent operations headquarters has been established to monitor the situation at the fire site,” according to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It is noted that firefighters continue to douse the forest floor. Firefighting efforts are complicated by strong winds and unusually hot weather.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that there are allegedly sufficient personnel and resources on site, and the area affected by the fire is being determined.

The fire at the Iskra factory in Lviv has already claimed three lives.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have attacked settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region 539 times. Three people were killed as a result of the Russian strikes, and another 19 residents of the region were injured.
Since the evening, Russian troops have attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region nearly 30 times. Three districts of the region came under fire, with the occupiers using drones and artillery. The attacks damaged homes, cars, and outbuildings, and fires broke out in several locations.
In the Kherson region over the past day, Russian troops again struck cities and villages in the region with airstrikes, drones, and artillery. Three people were killed in the attacks, and another 13 residents of the region were injured.
