The Presidential Office believes that Russia may declare a general mobilization following the State Duma elections
The leadership of the Office of the President of Ukraine has not ruled out the possibility that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will declare a general mobilization in the Russian Federation following the State Duma elections.
This was reported by the Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Brigadier General Pavlo Palisa, in an interview with Channel 24.
Ukrainian authorities and military command are fully aware of this possibility and are factoring it into their strategic planning for defensive operations.
During the conversation, journalists asked the representative of the Office of the President in detail about the Kremlin’s possible next steps against the backdrop of upcoming political processes in the aggressor country.
In particular, Palisa was asked whether Putin might declare a general mobilization after the State Duma elections or be preparing something else. The Ukrainian general confirmed that such a scenario is considered entirely realistic.
“It is entirely possible. We do not rule out such a scenario,” he replied.
Currently, relevant Ukrainian agencies and think tanks are closely monitoring any changes in the enemy’s domestic policy in order to respond promptly to potential challenges.
In response to a follow-up question about whether Ukraine is preparing for such a scenario and how it plans to counter it, the head of the Presidential Office emphasized that the authorities are taking this possibility into account.
The military and political leadership is developing comprehensive deterrence measures that will offset a possible increase in the number of occupying forces.
“We do not rule out this possibility and will respond accordingly,” Palisa said, assuring that the Defense Forces are ready for any actions by the enemy.
At the same time, the official did not disclose the details of the countermeasures or the specific steps the Ukrainian side plans to take to defend its territories.
He did not specify exactly what measures might be applied if the Kremlin were to pursue such a scenario.
A new wave of mobilization in Russia could become not only a serious social upheaval but also a factor that triggers a large-scale economic crisis with long-term consequences.
A likely new wave of mobilization in Russia could deal a serious blow to the aggressor country’s economy.
