In Russia, the adopted son of singer Namin has been sentenced to prison for double murder

The Moscow Regional Court has sentenced Roman Tkachenko (Mikoyan), the adopted son of musician Stas Namin, to 18 years in a maximum-security prison for the murder of his grandmother and stepbrother.

This was reported by Russian media.

The double murder took place on October 19, 2023, in the village of Kryukovo near Moscow. The victims were Stas Namin’s 30-year-old son, Artem Mikoyan, and his 83-year-old grandmother, Polina (Praskovya) Tkachenko.

According to the investigation, Roman got into an argument with his grandmother and killed her with a knife, after which he called his brother from Moscow and killed him as well during an argument.

The prosecution requested that Roman be sentenced to 20 years in a maximum-security prison.

The defense insisted that Tkachenko was acting in the heat of the moment when he committed the double murder.

During his final statement, Roman apologized to his stepfather and mother, knelt down, and declared that he repented for what he had done. He emphasized that he was ready to accept a just punishment, as there was no excuse for his actions.

Earlier, Russia’s Second Western District Military Court handed down a verdict in the case of the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall shopping center near Moscow.

As a reminder, on the anniversary of the attack at “Crocus,” Russia accused an “unfriendly country” of organizing it.

The death toll from the attack at "Crocus" stands at 93 people.
