Video: Polish lawmaker tore up portraits of Bandera and Shukhevych in the European Parliament
Polish Member of the European Parliament Marcin Sipniewski of the “Confederation” party tore up portraits of Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych during a speech in the European Parliament. He also called for an end to financial support for Ukraine.
The incident took place on September 16. During his speech, Sipniewski spoke about Ukraine’s policy of remembrance and the honoring of figures from the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. He then tore up images of Bandera and Shukhevych.
The politician also called on his European colleagues to stop providing financial aid to Ukraine. A video recording of his speech was published, in particular, by representatives of the “Confederation.”
Sypnevsky is a member of the “Europe of Sovereign Nations” political group in the European Parliament. Previously, he also opposed Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and criticized Ukrainian policy on historical memory.
