Hungarian authorities have launched an investigation into Szijjártó's ties to Russia
Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar confirmed the launch of a large-scale official investigation into former Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó’s contacts with the Russian Federation. Previously, the head of government had openly called these ties an act of treason.
At this time, details of the case are not being disclosed, as the investigation involves a large number of classified diplomatic materials and secret documents related to foreign policy. Péter Magyar emphasized that the government is refraining from comment so as not to influence the course of the investigation, but all permissible information will be made public as soon as the initial findings of the investigation are available.
