A man convicted in the "Crocus City Hall" case has taken his own life in a Russian detention center

In Russia, a man sentenced to life in prison in connection with the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall has died in a pretrial detention center.

This was reported by the Federal Penitentiary Service.

According to the agency, the man committed suicide. Resuscitation efforts were carried out on site, but he could not be saved.

An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is currently underway.

The name of the deceased has not been officially disclosed. According to Russian Telegram channels, the man was 37 years old and was being held at the Matrosskaya Tishina detention center in Moscow.

Russia’s Second Western District Military Court has handed down a verdict in the case of the terrorist attack at the “Crocus City Hall” shopping center near Moscow.

As a reminder, on the anniversary of the attack at “Crocus,” Russia accused an “unfriendly country” of organizing it.
