President Volodymyr Zelenskyy supported U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to include provisions on sanctions against Iran in the bill on sanctions against Russia—the aggressor state.
According to “Ukrainska Pravda,” citing “European Pravda,” Zelenskyy made this statement in an interview with American blogger Lori Lumer. According to him, the late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham had been working on the bill for new sanctions for a long time.

The president believes that combining sanctions provisions targeting Iran and Russia could unite various members of the U.S. Congress behind the bill. In his view, some lawmakers may support sanctions against Iran, while others may support restrictions against Russia.
Earlier, Trump called on Congress to add provisions related to Iran to the bipartisan bill on sanctions against Russia and signaled his readiness to sign the bill. According to media reports, the bill already has the support of more than 60 senators.
