Zelenskyy Appoints New Permanent Representative of Ukraine to UNESCO
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Viktoria Lyalina-Boyko as Ukraine’s permanent representative to UNESCO. The head of state signed the corresponding decree on August 3.
This personnel decision is part of a broader overhaul of Ukraine’s diplomatic corps, as part of which the president also replaced a number of ambassadors and diplomatic representatives.
Lyalina-Boiko previously served as director of the Department of Public Diplomacy and Strategic Communications at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Previously, she served as head of the Digital Diplomacy Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, later becoming deputy director of the department and head of the Digital Diplomacy Division, as well as director of the Department of Public Diplomacy and Communications.
The corresponding decree No. 703/2026 was published on the President’s website on Monday.
As a reminder, Zelenskyy announced a new position for Ukraine’s ambassador to Poland.
Ukraine will make every effort to force Russia to end the war before the start of winter 2026. To this end, Kyiv will continue to intensify diplomatic and sanctions pressure on the aggressor in cooperation with international partners.
