Journalist Alaa al-Rimawi detained in West Bank — Anadolu Agency

Israeli forces detained Palestinian journalist Alaa al-Rimawi during a raid on his home in Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. After his detention, he was taken to an unknown location, Anadolu Agency reports, citing the journalist's family.

Detention in Ramallah

Al-Rimawi previously worked as a correspondent for Al Jazeera Mubasher and headed the G Media network. He was also known for his activity on social media.

He was detained less than a year after his release on October 7, 2025. Before that, the journalist spent two years in administrative detention. In April 2021, Israeli forces had already detained him following a raid on his home in Ramallah; he was released about a month and a half later after a hunger strike.

In Nablus, Israeli forces entered the city before dawn: military vehicles arrived through the Deir Sharaf checkpoint west of the city and deployed near the Al-Ain refugee camp, local sources said. The forces raided homes and detained several Palestinians, including a girl and her father from the al-Masimi family. The identities of the other detainees were not immediately established.
