A drone found in Poland turned out to be a Russian Gerbera 2 equipped with a warhead
Following an examination of the drone discovered on September 14 on the Baltic Sea coast, Polish prosecutors determined that it was a Russian Gerbera 2 UAV equipped with a warhead. This was reported by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Poznań.
Colonel Bartosz Okoniewski, deputy district prosecutor for military affairs, said that the drone contained a high-explosive fragmentation warhead with a detonator. According to him, the warhead was successfully separated from the drone and, for safety reasons, immediately neutralized on the beach.
The drone has now been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation. Experts are to determine additional technical specifications of this UAV and the circumstances under which it entered Polish territory.

In the Baltic Sea, near the beach in the village of Rusinowo, close to Jarosławiec, the Polish military discovered a drone. The drone was retrieved from the water and taken for further examination. According to a preliminary assessment by the Polish military, it is of Russian origin and is a military-grade drone. Experts attempted to examine the device using an X-ray, but its casing blocks the X-rays. The military is now looking for another way to examine the interior and wants to keep the drone intact.
