The Ukrainian Armed Forces have liberated a total of 12 villages in the Oleksandrivka sector

Ukrainian forces have regained control of 480 square kilometers of territory in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

This was reported by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi in a report dated April 6, 2026. The offensive operation, which has been ongoing since late January, has liberated eight settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region and four in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Despite the Defense Forces’ successes, Russia has not abandoned its attempts to create a “buffer zone” and continues its attacks in the areas of Ternove, Oleksandrohrad, and Zelenyi Hai. Over the past week, 64 enemy assaults aimed at halting the Ukrainian advance were recorded. Currently, Ukrainian units are conducting active defense and inflicting fire damage on the occupiers, destroying the invaders’ equipment and personnel. Syrskyi emphasized that control over the liberated territories allows for stabilizing the front and thwarting the enemy’s plans for a further offensive on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that the invaders’ current strategic goal is to seize additional territories to create a so-called “buffer zone” within Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are adjusting military training to effectively counter enemy drones and modern threats on the battlefield.
