Ada Rogovtseva Will Celebrate Her 89th Birthday on Stage

People’s Artist of Ukraine Ada Rogovtseva will celebrate her 89th birthday on stage on July 16. On her birthday, the actress will perform in the play “Make Yourself at Home” at the International Center for Culture and Arts (October Palace) in Kyiv.

According to the actress, she has been spending her birthday with colleagues and audiences for several years in a row. This year, the performance will begin at 6:00 p.m.

On the eve of her birthday, Rogovtseva also shared her thoughts on aging, noting that she feels her advancing years more and more, yet she continues to perform on stage.

“I was born on the first day of the second half of summer. And I always miss that summer. There are just a few days left until I turn 89. These numbers seem strange… It’s scary to both write and say them. On my birthday, I’ll be performing, as I have been in recent years,” the actress wrote.

The actress shared that she is currently spending the summer in the village, tending to her farm and picking berries, and plans to return to her usual routine after the performance.

“For now, I’m living out these long July days in the countryside. The currant bushes have borne their fruit. We’ve sent some currants to my grandchildren for compotes and pies. Today I picked gooseberries, and when I return from Kyiv after my birthday, I’ll pick the late currants. Just as the berries roll between my fingers, so do my thoughts and memories. I find aging difficult. Everything I used to do with ease, on the fly, now requires great concentration and effort. But it would be a sin to complain!” the post reads.

Ada Rogovtseva thanked her family, friends, colleagues, and audience members for their support, and also noted that she has been performing on stage for nearly 70 years.

Rogovtseva shared this on Facebook.

Yulia Sanina shared a family trip to Iceland and posted some vibrant photos.

Ukrainian singer Tina Karol spoke about the personal life of her 17-year-old son, Veniamin.
