Jolie and Pitt's daughter Zahara has filed to change her last name — People
Zahara, the daughter of Hollywood actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has filed official paperwork to change her last name. She stopped using the Pitt surname back in 2024 and has now initiated the legal process to formalize the change.
According to the documents, the 21-year-old filed an official petition with the California Superior Court on April 28. She had stopped using the surname Pitt back in 2024.
During her graduation ceremony at Spelman College in May, she was listed as “Zachara Marley Jolie.” The actor attended the event with his children. Pitt did not attend the event.
In late May, it was reported that Zahara’s brother, 24-year-old Maddox, had filed a similar petition with the court. He described the decision as “personal.”
Jolie and Pitt have six children together: 24-year-old Maddox, 22-year-old Pax, 21-year-old Zahara, 19-year-old Shiloh, and 17-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
Vivienne was the first to distance herself from the Pitt surname. In May 2024, on the poster for the Broadway musical *Aliens*, which Vivienne helped produce with Angelina, her name was listed as Vivienne Jolie, not Vivienne Jolie-Pitt.
That same year, another daughter—Shiloh—officially dropped “Pitt” from her name. The girl’s lawyer stated that his client “made an independent and important decision to change her name following painful events.”
This was reported by People magazine.
