Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit was discharged from the hospital after a lung transplant

Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit has been discharged from the hospital after several weeks of hospitalization related to a lung transplant.

The Royal House confirmed that the heir to the throne has completed her inpatient treatment and will continue her recovery at home.

Mette-Marit thanked the medical team that treated her and also expressed her gratitude to everyone who agrees to donate organs. She also extended a special thank you to the people who sent her messages of support, noting that it meant a great deal to her.

“I want to send a special greeting to my friends, the Philomelists. You’ve been exceptional during one of the most difficult phases of my life. Living with cystic fibrosis isn’t for the faint of heart, and not a day goes by that I don’t think about how strong you all are,” says the Crown Princess. “I deeply appreciate the care I received during my illness from so many people throughout Norway. It gave me strength when I needed it most. Thank you so much,” says Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

According to the Royal Court, the Crown Princess will remain under close medical supervision for the next six months due to the risk of possible complications following the surgery. During this period, she will not participate in official events.
