Ancelotti has extended his contract with the Brazilian national team through 2030
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has officially announced the extension of head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s contract with the national team. The Italian coach’s new contract runs through mid-2030, covering the next two World Cup cycles. Ancelotti, who took over the "Seleção" in May 2025, initially had a contract only until the end of the 2026 World Cup, but the federation’s leadership decided to entrust him with the long-term rebuilding of the team.
This was reported on the confederation’s website.
Under the new terms, the decorated coach will prepare the national team not only for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, but also for the 2028 Copa América and the 2030 World Cup. Working with Brazil marked Ancelotti’s first full-fledged experience at the helm of a national team following decades of success in club football, notably with Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Chelsea.
The decision to extend his contract even before the start of this year’s World Cup demonstrates the high level of trust in the Italian and the desire to ensure stability within the coaching staff. Ancelotti himself has repeatedly emphasized that working with the five-time champions is a great challenge and an honor in the final stage of his distinguished career.
Real Madrid’s new coach, Álvaro Arbeloa, made his Champions League debut with a crushing 6-1 victory over Monaco. In doing so, he matched the achievement of Carlo Ancelotti, who secured a similar 6-1 victory over Galatasaray in the 2013/14 season. At that time, Real Madrid also won their 10th Champions League title.
As a reminder, Inter suffered three consecutive losses in the Champions League for the first time in history.
