Military Ombudswoman Reshetilova Responded to the Attack on the TCC in Lviv

Military Ombudswoman Olga Reshetilova commented on the attack on the alert team of the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support in Lviv, during which a military vehicle was damaged. She stated that responsibility for such incidents lies not only with government officials but also with those who fuel public tension surrounding the issue of mobilization.

According to Reshetilova, the state has still not been able to strike a balance between the needs of the economy and the needs of the military, which creates additional problems in the mobilization process.

As for the question of who is responsible: it is definitely the government, the military and political leadership, and local authorities, who for so many years have been unable to strike a balance between the needs of the economy and the needs of the military,” the military ombudswoman emphasized.

She also stated that mobilization reform must begin with a complete overhaul of the principles governing exemptions. In her view, this requires political will, an effective government apparatus, and public support.

But to make this happen, we need not only political will and a team of capable bureaucrats, but also public support—and that’s missing. Do you know why?

Olga Reshetilova spoke out sharply against politicians and officials who, she said, are exploiting the issue of mobilization for their own popularity.

“There will be a special place in hell for those politicians and officials who are capitalizing on the mobilization issue. You all know who they are; there’s nothing more to say,” she noted.

In addition, the ombudswoman addressed media representatives, bloggers, and influencers, urging them to reflect on their own role in shaping public opinion.

But I would also like to see some self-reflection from the media, bloggers, and influencers. Don’t you feel even a shred of responsibility for the skewing of the information landscape toward the interests of people who aren’t in the military? Do you understand where the incitement of hatred toward the Territorial Defense Forces, the police, and the people carrying out mobilization efforts is leading—without whom we will very soon see the enemy at our doorsteps? Yes, even in Sykhiv,” Reshetilova concluded.

She wrote about this on Facebook on the morning of July 9.
