Fighters from the 1st Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard “Azov,” who defended Mariupol and “Azovstal” in 2022, have declared their intention to bring the city back under Ukrainian control and are already carrying out strikes against the occupiers’ military infrastructure.
Arsen Dmytryk, chief of staff of the “Azov” Corps, emphasized that the unit is prepared to work toward the liberation of Mariupol for as long as it takes.
According to him, even if it takes decades, the military will continue to prepare for the city’s liberation.
Although Mariupol is located approximately 120 kilometers from the front line, Ukrainian forces are increasingly using long-range drones to strike targets that support the Russian army and the occupation administration.
Last week, Azov drones attacked the Mariupol seaport. The targets included power substations, repair equipment, and a ship subject to sanctions.
As a result of the attack, the port was left without power.
