French police arrest last suspect in Louvre robbery

Law enforcement officers in Paris have arrested a man believed to be the fourth and final member of a gang involved in the high-profile theft at the Louvre Museum.

According to the prosecutor's office, there are four suspects in total: two men, aged 38 and 39, and two women, aged 31 and 40. The man arrested on Tuesday was directly involved in the robbery, while the others were members of his circle.

On the morning of 19 October, several criminals posing as construction workers broke into the Louvre and stole nine pieces of jewellery that once belonged to Napoleon and his wife. A video of the daring robbery has also been released.

An unpublished report by the French Court of Auditors, scheduled for release in early November, revealed “significant” and “persistent” delays in the modernisation of security systems at the Louvre, which was robbed on 19 October.
