Iran has agreed to ship enriched uranium to China — Al Arabiya

Iran has agreed to remove its stockpile of highly enriched uranium at the request of the United States, on the condition that it be stored in China

This was reported bysources at the Al Arabiya and Al Hadath television channels.

According to the sources, before concluding an agreement with Washington, Tehran wants to receive guarantees from Beijing. Earlier, The New York Times reported that the issue of the enriched uranium’s fate would be discussed between the U.S. and Iran over the next 30–60 days.

President Donald Trump insists on transferring the nuclear materials to U.S. control and is even considering sending U.S. special forces to Iran to search for them.

Russia had previously offered to take Iranian uranium for storage or reprocessing. Vladimir Putin discussed this idea with Xi Jinping during a meeting in Beijing on May 20, but the U.S. opposed this option.

Iran has threatened the U.S. with opening “new fronts” in the event of further strikes.

Earlier, Trump announced the continuation of the military campaign against Iran

U.S. Central Command stated that Iran has been significantly weakened following the conflict with the United States and is no longer capable of operating with its former military might. Officials in Washington assert that strikes on Tehran’s infrastructure and allies will have long-term consequences.
