Callas confirmed her participation in the EU-Russia negotiations
The EU's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, suggested that she might represent the European Union in potential negotiations with Russia.
She made this statement following a meeting of the EU Council.
Kallas noted that she has significant experience in negotiations thanks to her legal career and is able to spot the “traps” that Moscow might use during the dialogue.
At the same time, she emphasized that the European Union is not yet at the stage of peace negotiations, as member states still need to agree on a common position and demands regarding Russia.
According to Kallas, there are currently no signs that Moscow is ready for a good-faith negotiation process.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he is ready to hold a summit with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, and the search for an appropriate format is currently underway.
The Kremlin has stated that Putin is ready to meet with Zelenskyy in Moscow.
