In Altai, refueling cars more than once a day has been banned
In the Altai Republic, regulations governing the sale of fuel at gas stations have been tightened. Now, at least 24 hours must elapse between refueling stops for the same vehicle.
The decision was made to reduce panic buying and prevent fuel speculation. Previously, daily limits were reset after midnight, so drivers tried to refuel their vehicles twice in a row—first before the clock struck midnight, and then immediately afterward.
Now, the 24-hour interval will be calculated individually for each vehicle—starting from the time of its last refueling. The vehicle’s license plate number will be entered into a special system upon presentation of its registration certificate to prevent the purchase of fuel more than once within a 24-hour period.
Restrictions on retail fuel sales in the region will remain in effect until September 1. In a number of districts, drivers are allowed to purchase no more than 30 liters of gasoline and 50 liters of diesel fuel per day. In other municipalities, the limits are 50 liters of gasoline and 100 liters of diesel.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated that the fuel situation in Siberia, particularly in Altai, remains difficult. The Russian government is discussing additional fuel shipments to the region to stabilize the situation.
