112 combat engagements recorded on the front line in 24 hours, 21 in the Pokrovsk direction
Since the beginning of the day, there have been 112 combat engagements on the front line, 21 of them in the Pokrovsk direction.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As of 4 pm on 22 November, Ukrainian defenders are stopping the enemy, holding their positions, and disrupting Russian plans. Fighting continues in nine directions, the headquarters emphasises.
Enemy shelling
During the day, the enemy fired artillery from Russian territory at the areas of the settlements of Bobylivka, Kucherivka, Shalyhyne, Malushyne, Bila Bereza, Korenok, and Utskove in the Sumy region.
Combat operations in the north
In the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled eleven attacks by the invaders, and three combat engagements are ongoing. The enemy launched one air strike, dropped three guided bombs, and carried out 62 shelling attacks, including two from multiple launch rocket systems.
Situation in the Kharkiv region
In the South Slobozhansky direction, since the beginning of the day, the Defence Forces have repelled one enemy attack, and another combat engagement is ongoing. The enemy is attacking near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers successfully stopped four enemy attacks in the areas of Pishchane, Petropavlivka, and Kupiansk. Two more combat clashes are still ongoing.
Fighting in the east
In the Lyman direction, two combat clashes took place near the village of Novoselivka.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Russians attempted seven times to advance on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the areas of Serebrianka and Dronivka. The Defence Forces stopped six enemy attacks, and one combat engagement is still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, one combat engagement is currently ongoing in the direction of the settlement of Kostyantynivka.
In the Kostyantynivka direction, the invaders attacked nine times in the areas of the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, Shcherbynivka, Yablunivka and toward the settlement of Mykolaipillia. One combat engagement is currently ongoing.
