In the Kyiv region, a woman caused a racist incident at a children's studio
A conflict broke out at a children’s acrobatics studio in Kryukivshchyna, Kyiv Oblast. According to those involved in the incident, one of the studio visitors began insulting a dark-skinned woman and her 6-year-old daughter because of their ethnicity.
According to the studio owner, the incident took place before class, when the woman of color brought her daughter to practice. Another woman approached them near the studio and began asking the mother why she was in Ukraine.
The conversation quickly escalated into a confrontation. According to the girl’s mother, she initially tried to respond calmly, but the other woman began making remarks about her appearance and background.
The woman claims that the stranger called her “the world’s problem” and then said, “Go back to Africa and eat bananas.” All of this, she said, happened in front of her 6-year-old daughter.
The mother said she was shocked by what she heard but did not want to continue the argument. She took her child and asked her to hurry to class. However, according to the woman, the stranger followed them to the studio.
The argument continued inside the studio. In a video posted by the studio’s owner, the woman can be heard repeatedly saying that there are “Africans” in front of her and expressing outrage that they are being served.
“I saw Africans,” she says in the recording.
The woman also demands that the mother and child leave the premises. When it is explained to her that they have the same right to attend classes as other clients, she continues to insist on her position.
The video also contains racist slurs and remarks about Africa and bananas.
The studio owner warns the woman that she will call the police. However, the woman continues to claim that people with dark skin allegedly do not belong in Ukraine.
“They’re not Ukrainians,” the woman says in the video.
Part of the phone conversation was recorded by an acrobatics instructor who witnessed the situation. The video was later shared on social media.
The studio owner explained that she could not stand by idly, as the insults were directed not only at an adult woman but also involved a small child.
Later, the studio owner reported that the police contacted her after she posted the video. According to her, law enforcement officials have already identified the woman and determined her place of residence.
“I believe she needs to understand what she’s saying and take responsibility for her actions,” the studio owner wrote.
She also emphasized that she will continue to stand up for people who find themselves in similar situations, regardless of whether they are her friends, clients, or strangers.
The woman who, according to her, was the target of the insults also shared her version of events on Instagram.

She noted that the situation was particularly painful because it all happened in front of her young daughter.
According to the woman, after the initial insults, she wanted to show the stranger her documents to prove her right to be in Ukraine, but ultimately changed her mind.
She emphasized that she didn’t understand why she had to prove anything to a stranger.
After the mother and daughter entered the studio, the conflict, she said, continued. The stranger began asking the coach why she was helping them and why she was coaching a dark-skinned child.
The mother said her daughter was frightened by the situation. She asked the girl to tell the coach what had happened and to call the police.
The woman noted that this was the first instance of racism she had encountered in Ukraine. At the same time, she emphasized that one person’s behavior would not change her attitude toward the country.
According to her, she has lived in Ukraine for many years, practically grew up here, built a life for herself, and gave birth to two daughters. Ukraine has long been her home, and she considers herself a dark-skinned Ukrainian woman.
“This experience will never change my love and respect for Ukrainians,” the woman emphasized.
After the story gained attention, she received numerous messages from Ukrainians offering words of support and thanked everyone who did not remain indifferent and helped her and her daughter feel safe.
She also stressed that this story applies not only to people of color but also to every foreigner living in Ukraine who considers it their home and deserves respect and humane treatment.
At this time, there is no official information regarding the legal classification of the incident or whether the woman may face charges. However, according to the studio owner, the police have already identified the woman involved in the incident and determined her place of residence.
The owner of a children’s acrobatics studio, who goes by the username @nastya_aldakimova, shared details about the incident on Threads.
