77 exotic animals without documentation were found in a car at the border with Poland
At the “Krakivets” border crossing, border guards and customs officers discovered 77 exotic animals in a car that someone was attempting to bring into Ukraine without the necessary permits.
During an inspection of a KIA vehicle driven by a 37-year-old Ukrainian citizen, law enforcement officers found plastic containers in the trunk containing spiders, reptiles, and insects.
According to the driver, he had picked up the cargo in Germany and was supposed to deliver it to Chernivtsi for a person who keeps and breeds exotic animals.
However, the inspection revealed that none of the documents required to transport such animals across the state border were present.
All the animals found were transferred to the Lviv City Children’s Ecology and Natural History Center, where they will be provided with appropriate living conditions.
