Peter Magyar called the Hungarian president a failure after a face-to-face meeting

Peter Magyar called the Hungarian president a failure after a face-to-face meeting

Péter Magyar, leader of the opposition party “Tisa,” whose political force won the parliamentary elections, issued a harsh statement directed at the country’s incumbent president, Tamás Szujók. Following official talks at the president’s residence on April 15, Magyar publicly questioned the president’s legitimacy and moral authority.

Mátyás wrote about this on Facebook.

The politician emphasized that Szujok is incapable of serving as a unifier of the nation and cannot guarantee the rule of law in the country. According to Magyar, the current head of state does not meet the criteria of a moral role model for Hungarian society.

A separate demand from the leader of “Tisza” was the immediate resignation of Tamás Szujók. Magyar is convinced that the president must leave the Sándor Palace immediately after the new government is formed. Such a radical step indicates a deep political crisis and the election winners’ intentions to completely overhaul the power structure in Hungary.

It was during this visit that a curious incident occurred: stepping out onto the palace terrace with the president, Magyar noticed Viktor Orbán on the neighboring balcony, calmly reading something.

Von der Leyen and Magyar discussed the release of EU funds for Hungary

Mátyás spoke out against Ukraine’s rapid accession to the EU.

Péter Magyar is the second cousin of the former president of Hungary and the grandson of a judge.
