The President of Finland suggested a possible rapprochement between Canada and the EU
Canada and the European Union should develop close strategic partnerships in all areas. This was stated by the President of Finland.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb expressed this view in an interview with CBC.
“In my view, in terms of its attitude and fundamental values, Canada is so close to the European Union that the least we can do is establish a truly close strategic partnership,” Stubb said.
He added that “he can imagine a much broader European Union, but whether Canada will be part of it is up to Canada to decide.”
