Pistorius spoke of a turning point in Russia's war against Ukraine

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that he sees signs of a possible turning point in Russia’s war against Ukraine. According to him, the situation indicates a shift in the course of hostilities and a strengthening of the Ukrainian side’s position.

This was reported by Welt.

“I believe that the Ukrainians really do have the upper hand. Russia is going through a period of weakness both economically and domestically, as well as on the battlefield,” said Pistorius, who was in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions on Tuesday.

He added: “The Ukrainians are making significant progress. Strikes on Russian military infrastructure in the rear are becoming increasingly precise and are yielding results.”

At Ukrainian command posts, Pistorius was shown how drones are used for reconnaissance and to counter Russian weapon systems and troops. He also had the opportunity to observe ongoing operations firsthand. Ukraine has expanded its capabilities, particularly since last year, which is expected to benefit the German armed forces as well within the framework of the strategic partnership.

“Today, many are talking about a decisive phase of the war, perhaps in Ukraine’s favor,” Pistorius said.
