The Khmelnytskyi Regional Police Department has a new chief

Ivan Vyhovsky, Head of the National Police of Ukraine, officially introduced the new head of the National Police Main Directorate in Khmelnytskyi Oblast

This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.

Police Colonel Ivan Ishchenko, who has successfully led the police in Chernihiv Oblast until now, has assumed this important position.

During the ceremony, the head of the agency expressed sincere gratitude to the former head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Police, Ruslan Herasymchuk, for his many years of service, high professionalism, and significant contribution to protecting citizens.

“The police today have a broad range of functions; in particular, we are also fighting a war. But our primary duty is to ensure law and order, combat crime, and ensure the observance of citizens’ rights and freedoms,” noted Ivan Vyhovsky, outlining the key tasks for the personnel.

The Head of the National Police separately drew the attention of those present to the need to strengthen interagency coordination and consolidate the efforts of all law enforcement agencies in Ukraine under martial law.

“We must remember that we have a single common enemy—the Russian Federation. Therefore, all law enforcement agencies must work together to achieve results. This is a matter of the country’s survival,” emphasized the nation’s top police official.

Among the key priorities for the Khmelnytskyi Regional Police, Ivan Vyhovskyi identified maximum operational efficiency in responding to any security challenges.

Other top priorities include the thorough documentation of war crimes committed by the Russian Federation, comprehensive support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and strict adherence to internal discipline.

On October 8, 2018, Ukraine launched photo and video recording of traffic violations. TruCam measurement devices were installed at locations with frequent accidents and on hazardous sections of international highways.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs proposed allocating funds from traffic violation fines to video-recording systems.
