Two men were arrested in the Kyiv region for selling methamphetamine and cannabis

In the city of Pereyaslav, law enforcement officers apprehended two men who, according to the investigation, organized the distribution of narcotics in the Boryspil district of Kyiv Oblast. The suspects have been notified of the charges against them. They face up to 10 years in prison and confiscation of property.

Law enforcement officers established that the 42-year-old and 48-year-old local residents illegally acquired, stored, and sold narcotics, including methadone and cannabis.

As part of the pre-trial investigation, officers from the Boryspil District Police Department, in cooperation with the Kyiv Region Police Narcotics Control Unit, conducted a series of searches at the suspects’ residences. During the investigative actions, police officers discovered and seized approximately 1.5 kilograms of cannabis, nearly 90 grams of methadone, 8 liters of alcohol, electronic scales, as well as other physical evidence of illegal activity.

The suspects were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility. All seized substances were sent for relevant forensic analysis.

Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Boryspil District Prosecutor’s Office, notified the two suspects of their suspicion of illegally acquiring, storing, and distributing narcotic drugs (Parts 1 and 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

In the UK, a truck driver was convicted of smuggling cocaine hidden in a shipment of Skims clothing.

Earlier, customs officials at Colombo International Airport discovered a large shipment of “Kush” marijuana in the luggage of a group of 22 monks who had arrived on a flight from Thailand. The drugs, weighing a total of 110 kilograms, were hidden in the double walls of the passengers’ suitcases.

At Cologne/Bonn Airport, German customs officials discovered approximately 25 kilograms of ketamine hidden inside gold-painted garden gnome figurines.

In France, a court handed down sentences to two former Paris police officers who had stolen confiscated cocaine.
