Putin's representative held talks in the U.S. on energy and ending the war – Reuters

Kirill Dmitriev, a representative of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, held “constructive” talks in Washington with U.S. officials regarding ending the war in Ukraine. During the meeting, the parties discussed possible joint energy initiatives between the U.S. and Russia in the post-war period.

Dmitriev, who heads Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, made the visit following a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in New York, where they discussed the possibility of a ceasefire regarding energy infrastructure facilities. Earlier this month, Trump’s representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner also met with Putin in Moscow.

Dmitriev’s visit to Washington was aimed at continuing discussions on a peaceful resolution to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and the implementation of potential joint energy projects after the war ends.
