According to Pezeshkian, a “struggle for resources” is already underway in Tehran, and the city’s infrastructure cannot cope with current demands. Although no budget has been allocated yet for the relocation, authorities consider moving the capital the only viable solution to the nationwide water crisis.
This decision could bring significant political and social changes in Iran, with complex challenges ahead in planning and implementing such a large-scale project.
