Russia attacked a bridge over the Dniester with a Shahed drone, but it withstood the strike – video
On December 18, 2025, around 04:00 p.m. , Russian occupiers carried out a cynical attack on civilian infrastructure in the Odesa region. An enemy Shahed-type drone struck a civilian car traveling on the bridge over the Dniester River on the Odesa–Reni highway near the village of Mayaky.
The victim of the attack was a 40-year-old woman driving the vehicle on the bridge.
According to Odesa Regional Military Administration Head Oleh Kiper, she sustained extremely severe injuries and died in the ambulance. Three children were also in the car — they survived but suffered injuries of varying severity and are in a state of severe psychological shock. Medical personnel are providing them with all necessary assistance.
This section of the road is critically important, as it serves as the main route to the southern districts of the region and the border with Moldova.
Russian forces have previously attacked Dnipropetrovsk region with FPV drones and artillery. They also launched a new missile strike on Zaporizhzhia.
