On March 24, the Russians attacked Ukraine with over 400 drones

Colonel Yuriy Ignat, head of the Air Force Command’s Communications Department, reported on March 24, 2026, that Russia had carried out one of the most massive drone attacks since the start of the full-scale war.

According to him, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., more than 400 attack UAVs flew into Ukrainian territory, moving in columns from the north and south, as well as across the front line. The strikes covered Poltava, Kyiv, and Vinnytsia regions, as well as western regions from Khmelnytskyi to Lviv, he said in a comment to Ukrainska Pravda.

All available air defense assets, including aircraft and mobile fire groups, were deployed to repel the aerial assault. Ignat noted that the daytime attack was larger in scale than the nighttime combined attack in terms of the number of assets and the territory covered. The Air Force will release a detailed report on the results of the air defense forces’ operations and the consequences of the strikes after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On March 24, Russian occupiers launched a massive attack on western regions of Ukraine using kamikaze drones. In Lviv, one of the drones struck a building in the city center, causing a fire.

This attack was part of a large-scale air offensive by the Russian Federation that on March 24 targeted several regions of Ukraine, including critical infrastructure facilities in the rear areas.
