Rutte visited Turkey and inspected the "Iron Dome" air defense system
During his visit to Turkey, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. He also familiarized himself with the “Iron Dome” air defense system.
In particular, according to Turkish media reports, the meeting between the Alliance’s head and the Turkish president focused on preparations for the NATO leaders’ summit to be held in Ankara, as well as issues on the Alliance’s agenda and regional and global challenges.
The NATO Secretary General also met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. Details of the meeting were not disclosed.



Rutte visited the ASELSAN technology facility. The company noted that it demonstrated to the NATO Secretary General the “Iron Dome” multi-layered air defense system, ground platforms, naval systems, electronic warfare solutions, and payload technologies for UAVs, among other things.




The Alliance chief familiarized himself with the company’s production facilities, including assembly and mass production lines where key components of the “Iron Dome” system are manufactured, and spoke with the company’s engineers.
