The Russians reported that more than 60 drones were shot down in the Leningrad region alone
Russian authorities in the Leningrad Region have reported a massive attack by Ukrainian drones that has been ongoing for several hours. As of 7:20 a.m. on Monday, regional governor Alexander Drozdov said more than 60 drones had been shot down over the region.

A warning about the threat of a drone attack was sent via SMS to residents of the region around 1:00 a.m.; by 8:00 a.m., no all-clear signal had been received.
Pulkovo Airport suspended arrivals and departures starting at midnight. Dozens of flights were delayed.
At the port of Primorsk, a fuel tank was damaged during the drone attack, causing a fire. Near the village of Yermilovo in the Vyborgsky District, a drone damaged a power line tower. There are no reports of casualties.
Reports of drones shot down over the Leningrad Oblast were also received on March 22. In St. Petersburg, mobile internet was shut down on Sunday afternoon, although no warning about the danger of a drone attack had been issued at that time.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that 249 drones were shot down over Russian territory during the night.
As a reminder, as of noon on March 22, 2026, a fire was still burning at a local oil refinery in the Russian city of Saratov, which had been attacked by Ukrainian drones on the night of March 21.
On the night of March 21, a Russian oil refinery in Saratov was once again struck by Ukrainian long-range drones.
