Syrsky spoke about the successes of the counteroffensive in the Oleksandrivka area

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have recaptured 480 square kilometers of territory in the Oleksandrivka sector, which also thwarted an offensive by Russian occupation forces. 

This was stated on March 30 by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi in an interview with ICTV. 

According to the general, the current success in terms of the amount of de-occupied territory has already surpassed the results of the Dobropillia counteroffensive operation, during which over 430 square kilometers were liberated. The advance of Ukrainian troops forced the Russian command to adjust its plans and redeploy reserves from other sections of the front.

Syrskyi noted that since March 1, the aggressor had been preparing a large-scale offensive across all 13 main directions, but active operations by the Armed Forces of Ukraine thwarted these plans. In particular, the enemy was forced to redeploy part of its forces and equipment from the Pokrovsk and Ocheretine directions to the Oleksandrivka direction to contain the Ukrainian counteroffensive. In addition to territorial gains, the Commander-in-Chief noted an increase in the effectiveness of interceptor drones in March, which facilitated the execution of combat missions. Thus, the strategic initiative in this sector remains with the Ukrainian side.
