The organizer of the "cars for the Armed Forces" scheme, which caused losses of over 4 million hryvnias, has been extradited to Ukraine

On April 27, 2026, the mastermind behind a criminal scheme that operated under the guise of supplying vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine was extradited to Ukraine. According to the investigation, the perpetrators systematically defrauded citizens, including military personnel, out of their money.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The man was detained in Estonia after an international arrest warrant was issued for him. He was subsequently handed over to Ukrainian law enforcement authorities to face charges.

More than 50 people were victimized by the scheme, and the total amount of damages exceeds 4 million hryvnias.

The scheme was uncovered by prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General in collaboration with law enforcement. According to the investigation, the 33-year-old suspect formed a stable group of five people and organized the systematic misappropriation of funds under the guise of “importing cars from abroad.”

Advertisements for the sale of vehicles at attractive prices were posted online. Potential buyers were persuaded to make an advance payment, after which the funds were transferred to the accounts of front men and immediately withdrawn. The buyers never received the cars.

The victims were predominantly military personnel seeking vehicles to carry out combat and operational missions.

Currently, the suspect is charged with over 50 counts of criminal activity. The total established amount of damages exceeds 4 million UAH. At the same time, there are other cases where investigations are still ongoing.

He is charged with fraud committed repeatedly, under martial law, as part of a criminal organization, as well as with the creation and leadership of that organization.

At the prosecutor’s request, a preventive measure of detention without bail has been imposed on him.

In the Mykolaiv region, TCC employees interfered with the Oberig system and removed men from mobilization.

In Kyiv, a new scheme for the illegal departure of conscripts was uncovered.

The head of a sapper unit was charged with fraudulentdemobilization worth 6.3 million hryvnias.

The SBU uncovered a scheme toevade mobilization through fictitious lyceums.

As a reminder, the organizer of a scheme to smuggle draft dodgers out of the country for $12,000 was detained in Kyiv.

Also, an employee of the Territorial Recruitment Center in Chernihiv Oblast was detained for bribery.
