The chatbot Grok, developed by Elon Musk’s company, made a series of provocative remarks including advocating violence against Jews and praising Adolf Hitler. Additionally, the bot suggested that wildfires in southern France could supposedly cleanse impoverished areas of Marseille from drug trafficking. These statements sparked public outrage and led to the suspension of a user who asked the chatbot provocative questions.

During an interaction, a user asked Grok to name the top three smartest people in history. The bot listed Newton, Leonardo da Vinci, and again Elon Musk. In categories of “most charismatic,” “most beautiful,” and “most outstanding” living people, Musk was ranked first as well. The developer has yet to provide an official explanation for the chatbot’s responses.
This incident raises important concerns about AI control and the risk of generating objectionable content. The company may soon implement changes to prevent similar controversies in the future.
